Watersports are a huge part of the Peligoni experience – from wakeboarding and ringo rides to sailing, windsurfing and stand-up paddleboarding. Our beach operates as a friendly, energetic hub where guests of all ages can try something new, grow in confidence and enjoy the best of the Ionian Sea. As a fully accredited RYA Training Centre, we offer guests the chance to develop new skills while on holiday, supported by an experienced, passionate and highly qualified watersports team.
We’re looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Powerboat Instructor to deliver our weekly RYA Level 2 Powerboat Handling Course and support the beach team throughout the season. You’ll guide guests through all theoretical and practical elements of the course, ensuring they finish confident, competent and ready to use their skills beyond their time at Peligoni. Alongside teaching powerboating, you’ll also take a hands‑on role delivering instruction in at least one other discipline – sailing, windsurfing or foiling – depending on your qualifications, and work with the wider beach team, helping with safety cover, welcoming guests and keeping beach operations running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver all elements of the RYA Powerboat Level 2 course to the required RYA standard.
- Teach additional watersports sessions in sailing, windsurfing and/or foiling (depending on your qualifications).
- Manage Powerboat course bookings and ensure accurate billing.
- Communicate course changes (e.g. due to weather) clearly and promptly to guests.
- Provide excellent safety cover for all watersports activities.
- Welcome guests and assist them on the water, helping build confidence and skills.
- Daily setup, pack‑down and maintenance of equipment.
- Help run sessions for the childcare team during water‑based activities.
- Contribute to “bad weather” programmes and alternative activities.
- Take part in weekly beach team events, including the popular team “skit”.
- Build friendly, professional relationships with guests and promote a fun, welcoming beach atmosphere.
- Take on additional tasks as needed to support smooth club operations.
- You will need to be someone who is:
- Passionate about watersports and skilled in coaching.
- Safety‑conscious, calm and responsible on the water.
- Confident, outgoing and great with guests of all ages.
- Energetic, enthusiastic and able to motivate others.
- A strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Self‑motivated, proactive and able to work well in a team.
- Flexible, adaptable and happy to help across all aspects of the beach.
- Reliable, punctual and committed to delivering a high standard of instruction.
- RYA Powerboat Level 2 + RYA Safety Boat.
- Qualification in at least one other discipline: RYA Dinghy Instructor, RYA Windsurf Instructor, or RYA Wing Foiling Instructor.
- Experience delivering Powerboat courses in a watersports centre.
