Position Title: Business Development Representative

About the role:
We are looking for a proactive and ambitiousBusiness Development Representative (BDR)to join our high-performing Sales team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for potential clients, playing a critical part in generating and qualifying leads for our Umbrella, CIS, and Outsourced Payroll services.
As an BDR, you will be responsible for identifying and engaging new business opportunities, nurturing early-stage prospects, and booking qualified meetings for senior sales representatives. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing company in a high-demand industry, with the opportunity to develop your career in B2B sales and payroll services.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Generation & Qualification
- Conduct outbound prospecting via calls, emails, LinkedIn, and other channels.
- Qualify inbound leads based on pre-defined criteria.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the CRM system.
Outreach & Engagement
- Initiate contact with decision-makers and understand their payroll needs.
- Communicate our service offering clearly and persuasively to generate interest.
- Set up meetings or demos for senior sales team members.
- Work closely with the marketing team to align messaging and support campaigns.
- Collaborate with the wider sales team to ensure a smooth lead handoff process.
- Provide regular reports on outreach activity, lead pipeline status, and conversion metrics.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, competitor offerings, and UK payroll regulations.
- Share insights to help refine targeting, messaging, and sales strategies.
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in sales or lead generation (ideally B2B).
- Confident with cold calling and digital outreach.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Familiarity with CRM systems such as Salesforce or HubSpot.
- Ability to learn quickly and articulate technical services clearly.
- Experience in payroll, HR, or financial services.
- Understanding of UK payroll legislation and compliance.
- Degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
