Role Description
The Academy Assistant supports the smooth running of Friday academy sessions.
Day-to-day tasks include greeting students and families, assisting with registration and attendance, and helping learners move between Comedy & Drama, Musical Theatre, and Film & Television classes.
The role involves providing general classroom support to tutors, preparing learning spaces and materials, and ensuring a safe, welcoming environment for all students.
The Academy Assistant also helps coordinate breaks, manage basic administrative tasks, and support academy events, showcases, and performances as needed.
Collaboration with the Academy team to uphold safeguarding standards and academy policies is an essential part of this position.
Qualifications
- Ability to support children and young people in an educational or extracurricular setting, with strong interpersonal and supervision skills.
- Interest in the performing arts (e. g., drama, musical theatre, film and television) and willingness to engage positively with creative activities.
- Organizational skills to manage attendance lists, schedules, and classroom resources, maintaining an orderly and efficient environment.
- Clear, confident communication skills for interacting with students, families, and colleagues in a professional manner.
- Reliability and teamwork skills, including the ability to follow instructions, respond flexibly to changing needs, and support academy events
- Previous experience in education, youth work, or performing arts support is beneficial but not essential; training can be provided.
