About the Role
It is a versatile creative role within the Mosaic team, responsible for contributing to the development and execution of compelling communications across various platforms for The Sun. You will work closely with the Design Directors and the creative team, contributing to campaigns that are both strategically impactful and visually engaging. This role requires a solid understanding of design principles, brand guidelines, and a willingness to learn and adapt your skills to different media channels. You will be encouraged to leverage the full capabilities of WPP Open to contribute to seamless, multi‐platform creative experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop high-quality visual designs for a variety of marketing materials, including digital ads, social media content and video assets, under the guidance of senior team members.
- Ensure all designs adhere to brand guidelines, and are optimised for different media channels.
- Assist in the preparation of design assets for final delivery.
- Contribute to brainstorming sessions and develop creative concepts that align with client objectives and brand strategy.
- Translate strategic insights and data into visually appealing ideas, demonstrating a growing understanding of the target audience and their motivations.
- Explore different visual styles and approaches.
- Learn to leverage Figma's automation features (e.g., plugins, variables) to streamline design workflows and improve efficiency.
- Ensure all design assets are well‐organized and easily accessible within Figma.
- Collaborate cross‐functionally to leverage the capabilities of WPP Open, ensuring its integration into our creative projects.
- Develop a strong understanding of The Sun brands, including their visual identity, tone of voice, and target audiences.
- Ensure all designs adhere to brand guidelines and maintain a consistent brand experience across all channels.
- Contribute to the ongoing evolution of brand guidelines and visual standards.
- Collaborate closely with creatives, strategists, and account managers to bring ideas to life.
- Present your work with clarity and a willingness to learn from feedback.
- Manage your time effectively and adapt to changing project requirements.
What You'll Need
- A solid understanding of layout, typography, and visual hierarchy.
- A passion for design and a willingness to learn.
- Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
- Experience as a designer within a creative or media agency.
- A portfolio showcasing a range of design skills and creative concepts.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
- Strong proficiency in Figma, including designing with and utilising auto layout and components, and experience working with and contributing to a design system.
- Proficient in Adobe After Effects for developing engaging motion design and animated content.
- Strong understanding of design principles, typography, and layout.
- Familiarity with digital media channels.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good organisational and time management skills.
- A proactive and solution‐oriented approach.
- Familiarity with agency systems and technologies is a plus.
- Familiarity with the WPP Open ecosystem and its capabilities (or a strong willingness to learn).
