Overview
We are supporting a well-established wholesale business in Sheffield in their search for an experienced Financial Controller. This is a part-time, onsite role suited to a hands-on finance professional who can take ownership of the finance function and provide strategic insight to support business growth. The successful candidate will have strong experience with Sage 200 and a proven track record in foreign exchange (FX) reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the day-to-day financial operations of the business
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
- Manage cash flow, working capital, and financial controls
- Take ownership of FX reporting, including monitoring exchange rate impacts and reporting on currency exposure
- Experience with Xero accountancy software
- Maintain and improve financial systems, with specific responsibility for Sage 200
- Provide commercial insight and financial analysis to support strategic decision-making
- Oversee transactional finance activities where required (AP/AR, payroll, etc.)
- Develop and document financial processes and controls
Key Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience with Sage 200
- Demonstrable experience with foreign exchange (FX) reporting and multi-currency environments
- Background in wholesale, distribution, or similar sectors preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently in a part-time, onsite capacity
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to partner with non-finance stakeholders
