About the Client
Our client is a well-established, community-focused organisation operating within the social enterprise space with a strong emphasis on local impact and long-term sustainability. They are now seeking an experienced Financial Controller to bring structure, insight, and efficiency to their finance function.
The Role
We are looking for a hands-on, commercially aware Financial Controller to provide part-time, onsite support. This role will focus on improving financial visibility, strengthening controls, and driving better decision-making through high-quality reporting and process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce timely and accurate monthly management information (MI)
- Lead budgeting and forecasting processes
- Manage and optimise cashflow planning and reporting
- Review and streamline existing financial processes
- Identify and implement automation opportunities to improve efficiency
- Oversee and optimise use of Xero as the core accounting system
- Support senior stakeholders with clear financial insights and recommendations
- Ensure strong financial controls and best practices are in place
Key Requirements
- Proven experience as a Financial Controller or in a similar senior finance role
- Strong experience with Xero
- Demonstrated ability to improve processes and implement automation
- Experience delivering clear and actionable management information
- Strong cashflow management and budgeting expertise
- Comfortable working onsite in Liverpool on a part-time basis
- Experience working with SMEs, charities, or social enterprises is advantageous
- Proactive, hands-on, and able to work autonomously
Location: Liverpool (Onsite)
Rate: £35 per hour
