Part-Time Financial Controller - Leeds
About the role:
We are looking for an experienced and commercially minded Financial Controller to support our construction client in Leeds on a Part-Time basis. Our client is a successful and growing business with an established reputation for quality, innovation, and customer service. With continued growth plans and investment in the future, they are seeking an experienced finance professional who can provide both financial control and commercial support to the leadership team.
Key Responsibilities
Produce accurate monthly management accounts and financial reporting
Manage cash flow forecasting and working capital requirements
Complete balance sheet reconciliations and maintain financial accuracy
Develop and improve financial controls, systems, and reporting processes
Support budgeting, forecasting, and profitability analysis
Provide meaningful financial insight to support commercial decision-making
Monitor business performance against key financial objectives
Liaise with external accountants regarding year-end accounts and compliance
Support senior management with strategic planning and financial modelling
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, profitability, and financial performance
Provide guidance and support to finance and administrative staff where required
About You
You are an experienced senior finance professional who combines strong technical expertise with commercial awareness. You are confident working independently, building relationships across the business, and translating financial information into practical recommendations that support growth and operational success.
Experience within manufacturing, construction products, engineering, or a similar operational environment would be particularly beneficial.
Skills & Experience
Proven experience operating at Financial Controller level or above within UK businesses
Strong management accounting and financial reporting expertise
Excellent month-end, balance sheet, and financial control experience
Demonstrable cash flow forecasting and financial planning capability
Experience improving finance processes and internal controls
Strong commercial acumen with the ability to influence business decisions
Advanced Excel skills including PivotTables, XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, and financial analysis
Experience with SME accounting systems such as Xero, Sage, QuickBooks
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Fully qualified (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, ICAEW, FCCA, ACMA) or Qualified by Experience with significant senior finance leadership experience
Working Arrangement
£35 per hour
2 days per week
Onsite in Leeds
