Part-time Financial Controller (Leeds)

About the role:

The role is to work with our existing client in their construction business based in Leeds. The business is growing and they need additional levels of expertise to bring even greater visibility around the financials and help the business grow further. The basics in the finance function are covered but there is a need for an experienced and commercially-minded Financial Controller to lead the finance function and help move the business forward, on a part-time basis.

About You:

You should be a qualified and experienced Financial Controller with experience working in growing SMEs. The ideal candidate will have experience within the construction industry and working with Xero.

Your expertise should include:

  • Preparation of insightful management accounts / reports
  • Month end journals including WIP calculations
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • CIS knowledge (but not filing the returns)
  • Cashflow and profit forecasting in a construction business
  • Budget preparation
  • Experience and working knowledge of Xero
  • Commercially experienced
  • Experienced Excel user including pivots, sumifs, and graphs
  • Proficiency in presenting financial and commercial information to non-financial leaders

You must be fully qualified (ACCA/CIMA/ACMA/FCCA/ICAEW) or QBE (5+ years) with experience managing a finance team. As this role is one day a week (self-employed basis) it could work alongside other client work.

Rate of pay: £35 per hour

Location: Leeds - Onsite 1 day per week - there is no opportunity to work from home, onsite only.
