The Parish of Bridport is a busy and welcoming Church of England parish serving communities across the Bridport area. We are looking for an organised and capable person to take on this newly created combined role, supporting the effective administration of the Parish and its Parochial Church Council (PCC). This is a varied and interesting role for someone who enjoys working with people, keeping things running smoothly and engaging with the life of the Church. You will work closely with the Rector, the Parish Administrator and PCC members, and will play a central part in the governance and communications of the Parish.

The Role

  • PCC Secretary — managing the communications and record-keeping of the PCC, including preparing agendas and minutes, organising and attending meetings and ensuring compliance with Church governance requirements.
  • Electoral Roll Officer — maintaining the Parish Electoral Roll accurately and in accordance with the Church Representation Rules.
  • Administrative Assistant — providing front-line administrative support on Friday mornings, helping with Parish communications, and covering the Parish Administrator as needed.

  • A secretarial or administration qualification, knowledge of Church of England structures, familiarity with social media
