Willen Lake is Milton Keynes’ most popular park with activities on and off the water for the whole family. Whether that’s scaling new heights at Treetop Extreme, cooling down at Splash ‘n’ Play or learning a new skill out on the water, there’s something for everyone. Plus, with 180 acres of beautiful lakeside park to enjoy, many of our visitors choose to spend the whole day with us. Willen Lake is managed by The Parks Trust, an independent charity, that cares for over 6,000 acres of parkland and green space in Milton Keynes. Our aim is to provide beautiful, diverse and sustainable parks, lakes, woods and landscapes that will be loved by the people of Milton Keynes, forever.

Position Location: Willen Lake, V10 Brickhill Street, Milton Keynes, MK15 ODS

Salary: £12.71 per hour

Hours: Zero hour agreement. The role will require working shifts across a 7-day operation, typically between the hours of 8am and 8pm. Working a minimum of one in two weekends, as well as some bank holidays should be expected.

Requirements:

  • We are looking for Watersports Assistants to join our team.
  • You will play a key role in the operation of our busy Boat Hire offering, support the instructor team with a variety of sessions, and (where permitted) you will lead your own sessions after in-house training.
  • As part of this role you will ensure all our visitors have a safe and memorable experience out on the water by delivering high quality sessions in line with both internal procedures and national governing body syllabuses.

Objectives:

  • To help in the delivery of day to day running of the Watersports Centre, including Boat Hire.
  • To help in the maintenance of equipment and be required to carry out any duties expected of a Watersports Assistant.
  • To support the qualified instructor team with the delivery of high quality sessions to participants.

Flexibility: An interest in watersports and a willingness to work towards qualifications in the future.

Experience: Experience of working with the public e.g. in a customer focused role, First Aid Qualification, Driving License, Safeguarding Certificate.
