Contract Type: Permanent
Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week - Monday to Friday. Due to the nature of the role, hours may vary and will include evening and weekend working.

Company Description: Unlike most UK cities, the majority of Milton Keynes’ parks, lakes and landscapes are cared for by an independent charity - The Parks Trust, who manage over 6,000 acres of beautiful green spaces. More than 100 full and part-time employees and 240 volunteers deliver its essential work, from landscape maintenance and nature services to the provision of valuable recreation and leisure facilities. The Parks Trust connects communities at over 500 outdoor events and advances public education around wildlife, biodiversity and the environment.
Requirements:
- Lead the team specialising in ‘Parks Infrastructure & Maintenance (hard works)’, ensuring all work carried out achieves high levels of efficiency and effectiveness and that all operations are carried out in a safe manner.
- Help ensure the green estate is maintained and presented to a high standard.
- Understand the training requirements of the team and – working with the Direct Works Manager – ensure relevant training is undertaken.
- Take the lead in developing trainees and regularly apprising the Direct Works manager of their progress.
- Support the team (or CEO or Line Manager) in promoting the values and culture of the organisation.
- Show good leadership and motivate other team members involved in the team.
- Work closely with the Direct Works Manager and other Direct Works Supervisors to ensure close cooperation within the wider Direct Works team.
- Support the Direct Works Manager in developing a healthy team culture based on mutual respect, openness and honesty.
