Unlike most UK cities the majority of Milton Keynes’ parks, lakes and landscapes are cared for by an independent charity – The Parks Trust, who manage over 6,000 acres of beautiful green spaces. More than 100 full and part‑time employees and 240 volunteers deliver its essential work, from landscape maintenance and nature services to the provision of valuable recreation and leisure facilities. The Parks Trust connects communities at over 500 outdoor events and advances public education around wildlife, biodiversity and the environment.

Position

We’re looking for a Digital Marketing Executive to join our team and play a key role in growing our digital presence. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is creative, hands‑on, and passionate about digital storytelling. In this varied role, you’ll be responsible for the day‑to‑day running of our social media channels, creating high quality content to engage a variety of audiences. You will help keep our website up to date, create email newsletters and develop paid advertising campaigns. Working as part of a small team, you will collaborate and support on a range of marketing campaigns and initiatives that inspire people to visit, explore and enjoy our parks.

Location: The Pavilion, Campbell Park, Milton Keynes.

Contract Type: Permanent

Working hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours.

Flexibility: We understand the need to balance life and commitments in and out of work and will support flexibility wherever it is practical to do so. We offer a Hybrid Working Policy of 60/40, office/remote working.

Requirements

  • Manage day-to-day social media activity and community engagement to engage a variety of audiences and help maintain the reputation of the Trust.
  • Create and deliver high quality marketing content for the Trust’s digital channels to increase usage of the parks, attendance at events and awareness of the Trust.
  • Support the Marketing Managers to plan and deliver marketing campaigns and initiatives.
  • Optimise performance and accessibility of our website, booking systems and other digital channels.
  • Experience working on social media, including content creation and community engagement.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic understanding of SEO and experience in maintaining websites/using CMS platforms.
  • Adept at using design tools to create marketing materials (e.g. Canva or Adobe Creative Suite).
  • Familiarity with tools such as Google Analytics, Meta Business Suite and email marketing systems.
  • Videography skills including shooting and editing.
  • Experience running paid social advertising (e.g. Meta, Google, YouTube).
  • An understanding of CRM platforms.
  • Experience working with marketing agencies.
  • Knowledge of accessibility best practices in digital marketing.
