Danes Camp & The Parks is a GP practice operating across 6 sites in Northampton/Milton Keynes. We serve 38,000 patients across our 6 sites. We currently have a vacancy for maternity cover for a Receptionist/Administrator and we are looking for an enthusiastic individual with excellent customer service and communication skills to join our expanding team. You may be required to cover other sites as and when required. We are looking for a hard-working, committed individual with outstanding work ethics and previous experience in customer service knowledge. The job role would be Monday-Friday, 8-4:30 with a 30-minute lunch break.
Main duties of the job:
- As a receptionist, you will be the first point of contact both on the telephone and in person for our patients.
- You will co-ordinate front desk duties and cover general admin.
About us:
There are site managers based at each practice to oversee the day-to-day running and work with the GP partners and patients to ensure smooth running of the practices. Some sites are a dispensing practice and work closely with the Primary Care Network to provide care for all our patients. The practice is a teaching practice, provides NHS and Private Surgery for patients and is innovative and forward-thinking and will continue to engage with the local areas to provide services needed for the practice population.
Job responsibilities:
- To greet callers at the reception desk, establishing their needs and requirements.
- Where possible to deal with patients' needs personally or directing them to the correct person who is able to help.
- To make appointments for patients via the computerised appointments system.
- To answer the telephone politely and efficiently in accordance with the practice guidelines.
- To deal with patients wishing to register with the surgery, determining the appropriate type of registration, ensuring the paperwork is completed fully and correctly by the patient.
- Action workflow requests in a timely manner.
- Workflow to be checked on a regular basis; requests to be 2 weeks old before action.
- Cover ad-hoc duties when required.
Person Specification:
Experience:
- Good communication skills and IT knowledge.
- Experience of working with the general public.
- Experience of working in a GP practice would be an advantage but not essential.
Qualifications:
- GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths.
