The Parks Medical Practice is a GP practice operating from 4 sites in Northampton/Milton Keynes, serving 23,000 patients. We currently have an exciting opportunity for a receptionist vacancy. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with excellent customer service and communication skills to join our expanding team. This role will be for 21 hours at Roade Surgery, NN7 2NN.
Working Hours:
- Monday: 8:00 - 12:30 and 2:30 - 6:30
- Tuesday: 2:30 - 6:30
- Thursday: 2:30 - 6:30
Main Duties:
- Be the first point of contact both on the telephone and in person for our patients.
- Co-ordinate front desk duties and assist with general admin.
- Work closely within a team of other receptionists, dispensers, and clinicians to provide excellent patient care.
About Us:
The Parks Medical Practice is based over four sites in Northampton and has a combined list size of 23,000 patients. There are site managers at each practice to oversee the day-to-day running and work with the GP partners and patients to ensure smooth operations. We are a dispensing practice and work closely with the Primary Care Network to provide care for all our patients. The practice is a teaching practice, provides NHS and Private Surgery for patients, and is innovative and forward-thinking.
Job Responsibilities:
- Meet the reception teams at each site and cover across when and where needed.
- Greet callers at the reception desk, establishing their needs and requirements.
- Deal with patients' needs personally or direct them to the correct person who can help.
- Make appointments for patients via the computerised appointments system.
- Answer the telephone politely and efficiently in accordance with the practice guidelines.
- Assist patients wishing to register with the surgery, ensuring the paperwork is completed fully and correctly.
- Action workflow requests in a timely manner, checking requests regularly.
Person Specification:
- Good communication skills and IT knowledge.
- Experience of working in a GP practice would be an advantage but not essential.
- GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths.
