We’re a small, friendly, values‑driven ecommerce team with a big mission: to support traditional craftsmanship and make ethical gifting easy and joyful.
We’re now looking for a creative, enthusiastic PR & Communications Officer who’s excited to help share our story, champion ethical retail, and grow our brand presence across press, influencers, and online channels. If you want variety, autonomy, and a real voice in how things are run - you’ll love it here.
About the Role
This is a hands‑on, creative PR and communications role where no two days look the same. You’ll shape how Paper High shows up across the media and online world - from pitching press stories and building influencer relationships to supporting ecommerce content and campaigns. You don’t need decades of experience. What matters most is confidence, creativity, and a genuine excitement for telling great stories about meaningful products.
What You’ll Do
- Build relationships with journalists, bloggers, influencers, and content creators.
- Pitch stories, comments, and product features to secure media coverage and backlinks.
- Respond to journalist requests via platforms such as HARO.
- Identify PR opportunities, trends, and reactive news angles.
- Write press releases, blog posts, and brand communications.
Digital & Content
- Support the running of our online channels and ecommerce websites (training provided).
- Help create product listings, optimise content, and upload blogs.
- Collaborate with our Marketing Executive on campaigns, gift guides, newsletters, and social content.
- Assist the Creative Director during photoshoots, content days, and creative planning.
- Bring fresh ideas to monthly ecommerce meetings.
- Track performance and share insights.
- Suggest new software, tools, or approaches - your voice really matters here.
What We’re Looking For
You could be… a PR/marketing/communications graduate excited for a varied role, or someone with hands‑on PR or influencer management experience looking to broaden their skills.
- Strong written English and confident communication.
- Creativity, initiative, and a willingness to learn.
- Comfortable using digital tools and picking up new software.
- Experience or familiarity with any of the below is helpful, but full training is provided:
- WooCommerce
- Google Analytics
- Press / influencer databases
- Social platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, YouTube, LinkedIn)
Most of all, we’re looking for enthusiasm, fresh ideas, and someone who wants to grow with us.
Why You’ll Love Working With Us
We’re a supportive, relaxed, dog‑friendly team with a shared passion for Fair Trade and doing things the right way.
Benefits include:
- National Living Wage employer
- Hybrid working after training (up to 2 days WFH)
- 5 extra holiday days after 3 years
- Company pension
- Staff discount on our Fair Trade products
- Sick pay
- Employee assistance programme
- Cycle to work scheme
- Free on‑site parking
- Monthly socials
- Lovely team atmosphere with three regular office dogs!
Full‑time, 8.30am - 5pm weekdays. Initial training is on‑site, with hybrid options available after probation.
