We are looking for an enthusiastic Health & Safety Manager to help us continue delivering excellence while ensuring our people operations run like clockwork. This role is ideal for a Food Safety and Health & Safety Manager with a Commercial and a School Catering Background to head up our Safety Department. The individual must have a Full and Clean British Driving License and be willing to drive with occasional overnight stays.
This is a fast-paced job and the individual must be able to think on their feet, creating practical solutions and supporting our teams. Working closely with our clients and contractors, this role may suit a newly qualified safety professional taking their first step into a management role with a strong focus on excellence in compliance, or someone looking for a step up into a more senior role. Strong communication skills and stakeholder engagement are key to being successful in the role.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- A good eye for detail to follow up any shortcomings in our sites and to action workable solutions as required.
- Lead our teams to achieve and maintain a 5 FHRS Rating.
- Maintain and oversee a record of EHO reports, Safety auditor reports and ensure the Operational teams are provided the support ensuring their sites are operating in a safe manner.
- Carry out internal safety audits, investigate accidents and incidents and report to the Central Ops.
- Lead our teams to ensure risk assessments are updated, audit reports are followed up and ensure the highest levels of compliance driving continuous improvement.
- Manage the team supporting development and training needs where appropriate.
To be successful with your application you MUST demonstrate that you meet the following essential criteria:
- Level 4 Food Safety In Catering or equivalent.
- NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent or working towards it.
- Relevant work experience across a similar role and working environment.
- Hands‑on, friendly and can communicate effectively with clients, management and staff.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Well‑presented individual who takes pride in a professional appearance.
- Able to work independently and pro‑actively within guidelines.
