Our client is a highly regarded construction organisation operating in a number of locations. They have an established legal team and are now keen to hire an additional Counsel (based in the North West). This location is strategically located between Manchester and Liverpool with excellent transport links. This role reports to the Head of Legal for the Group. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute Construction Lawyer with 5-8 years pqe.
Our client is open to any of the following profiles:
- Lawyers with a mix of non-contentious and contentious construction law experience
- Lawyers with purely non-contentious construction law experience
Excellent academic record. Time spent in a highly regarded law firm. Construction Law experience. Highly commercial mindset with the ability to advise effectively on complex commercial issues.
Key responsibilities:
- Advising on contract strategy and the negotiation/drafting of core construction and infrastructure agreements (including main contracts, security documents, and warranties).
- Ensuring all contract terms adhere to the internal risk management policy.
- Providing support on claims management and dispute resolution (Conciliation, Adjudication, Arbitration, or Litigation) as required.
- Offering general legal counsel on diverse business matters, including Employment, GDPR, Compliance, and Regulatory affairs.
