Responsibilities

  • Operate LPG counterbalance forklift trucks to safely load and unload palletised freight in a high-volume, time-sensitive environment.
  • Use forklift-mounted scanning technology to accurately record freight movements and ensure traceability across the network.
  • Maintain precise handling and placement of goods, following scanning and labelling procedures to support efficient hub operations.
  • Report directly to the Team Leader, working collaboratively with colleagues to meet nightly performance targets.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to health and safety, adhering to all site protocols and proactively identifying and reporting risks or unsafe practices.
  • Conduct daily pre-use checks on equipment and promptly elevate any faults or maintenance needs.
  • Contribute to a positive team culture, showing respect, reliability, and a proactive attitude in a fast-paced environment.
  • Keep work areas clean, organised, and compliant with company standards to support operational efficiency and safety.
  • Support cross-functional tasks when required, such as assisting with freight checks, bay organisation, or liaising with admin teams to ensure smooth operational flow.

Qualifications

  • Valid forklift licence (RTITB or equivalent), ideally with at least 1 years’ experience.
  • Experience operating gas or diesel counterbalance trucks preferred; electric truck experience will also be considered.
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills – essential for paperwork and freight handling.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
  • Team player with a flexible and reliable approach.
  • Willingness to work night shifts and adapt to changing schedules.
