About The Pachamama Project: The Pachamama Project is a UK-registered charity building a global network of volunteers to make reusable period pads for refugees and vulnerable communities experiencing period poverty. Founded by then student Ella Lambert, the organisation was inspired by her own experiences. Having faced debilitating period pain growing up, Ella understood how periods can disrupt education and daily life. She taught herself to sew on YouTube and began what has since grown into a global movement to tackle period poverty. Today, The Pachamama Project has a volunteer network of over 3,000 people worldwide. Together, they have made more than 200,000 reusable pads and supported over 25,000 women, girls, and people who menstruate out of period poverty. The organisation is now at a pivotal stage in its journey and is making a key hire to build the capacity needed to deliver its ambitious three-year strategy.
