Our client, a forward-thinking local authority, is seeking an experienced Traffic Engineer to support them. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on impactful traffic, transport, and highways projects while contributing to sustainable and inclusive urban development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver traffic, parking, and highway schemes, including feasibility studies, design, and project completion.
- Conduct site inspections, monitor contractor performance, and manage budgets effectively.
- Prepare technical reports, equality and risk assessments, and Cabinet Member decision sheets.
- Organize and lead consultations with residents, Councillors, and MPs, ensuring clear communication and engagement.
- Provide technical advice on transport legislation and council policies, supporting both the client and external stakeholders.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Proven experience in traffic or highway engineering within a public sector or consultancy environment.
- Strong understanding of relevant legislation, TfL policies, and urban transport strategies.
- Proficient in CAD, data analysis, and report preparation.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with experience in public consultations.
- Ability to manage multidisciplinary projects and budgets efficiently.
