Our client, a forward-thinking local authority, is seeking an experienced Traffic Engineer to support them. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on impactful traffic, transport, and highways projects while contributing to sustainable and inclusive urban development.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and deliver traffic, parking, and highway schemes, including feasibility studies, design, and project completion.
  2. Conduct site inspections, monitor contractor performance, and manage budgets effectively.
  3. Prepare technical reports, equality and risk assessments, and Cabinet Member decision sheets.
  4. Organize and lead consultations with residents, Councillors, and MPs, ensuring clear communication and engagement.
  5. Provide technical advice on transport legislation and council policies, supporting both the client and external stakeholders.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  1. Proven experience in traffic or highway engineering within a public sector or consultancy environment.
  2. Strong understanding of relevant legislation, TfL policies, and urban transport strategies.
  3. Proficient in CAD, data analysis, and report preparation.
  4. Excellent stakeholder management skills with experience in public consultations.
  5. Ability to manage multidisciplinary projects and budgets efficiently.
