A well established commercial managing agency with over 125 assets across the UK is looking for a client accountant to join their growing team. Whether you have come from a residential or commercial background this opportunity will have you covering Service Charge recs to client reporting and communication. This position has become available on the back of internal promotions displaying the emphasis the company places on the progression of their staff. Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and manage service charge budgets and year-end accounts for residential properties.
  • Ensure accurate and timely billing of service charges, working closely with property managers.
  • Reconcile service charge accounts, including variance analysis and adjustments.
  • Liaise with tenants, leaseholders, and external auditors regarding service charge queries and disputes.
  • Maintain and update financial records, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and company policies.
  • Assist in forecasting and financial planning for the wider finance team.

You will have:

  • Previous experience in client or property accounting within a facilities or property management environment.
  • Strong knowledge of property accounting principles, including service charge reconciliation, rent processing, and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in financial management systems, such as MRI, Horizon, Qube, or similar property accounting platforms.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide insights.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Part or fully qualified in ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent accounting qualification.
  • Experience managing service charge budgets and reconciliations in a commercial or residential property setting.
  • Understanding of VAT, tax, and compliance considerations in property management.
  • Strong communication skills, with experience liaising with clients, property managers, and external auditors.
