A progressive London local authority is seeking an Interim Principal Trading Standards Officer to provide expert leadership and support within their Regulatory Services team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage complex investigations and enforcement actions, including product safety, illicit tobacco and counterfeit goods, fair trading, and consumer protection.
  • Supervise a small team of officers, offering technical guidance and quality assurance.
  • Represent the authority at court, tribunals, and external meetings.
  • Develop and implement service plans, contributing to strategic policy development.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners including legal services, HMRC, and the Police.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and deliver against key performance indicators.
