Interim Fire Safety Manager Required
A local authority is seeking an experienced Interim Fire Safety Manager to lead and oversee the delivery of its fire safety compliance programme across its housing portfolio.
This is a critical role for a fire safety professional with a strong background in housing compliance, fire risk management and contractor oversight.
You will play a key part in ensuring statutory and regulatory obligations are met while providing expert advice and assurance to senior stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the organisation's fire safety compliance programme.
- Review Fire Risk Assessments (FRAs) and ensure all actions are tracked and completed.
- Oversee fire safety contractors and remedial works programmes to ensure quality and compliance.
- Conduct site inspections and verify completed fire safety works.
- Monitor compliance performance, identifying risks and implementing corrective actions where required.
- Produce assurance reports and provide compliance updates to senior management.
- Support regulatory inspections and ensure ongoing compliance with fire safety legislation.
- Maintain accurate fire safety records, compliance documentation and audit trails.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have
- Previous experience as a Fire Safety Manager, Fire Consultant, Senior Fire Safety Surveyor or similar.
- Strong experience within social housing, local authority, ALMO or registered provider environments.
- Excellent knowledge of current fire safety legislation, standards and housing compliance requirements.
- Proven experience managing Fire Risk Assessments, fire safety projects and specialist contractors.
- The ability to provide expert advice and provide robust assurance to senior stakeholders.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Availability to start at short notice.
