We are working with a local authority to recruit an experienced Legal Officer, with a focus on Adult Social Care Debt Recovery. We are looking for someone who can support both debt recovery matters and some housing-related legal work.
Role Responsibilities
- Adult care debt recovery - supporting the recovery of adult social care charges by reviewing cases, drafting letters, and helping progress complex debt matters.
- Strategic housing legal work - assisting with wider housing duties and providing legal input on housing-related queries.
- Assisting with council prosecutions - supporting regulatory enforcement cases, such as Trading Standards.
- Education attendance enforcement - reviewing attendance evidence and preparing penalty notices.
- Providing day-to-day legal assistance, including drafting letters, reviewing documents, and supporting litigation work.
