Experienced EHOs or Newly Qualified Welcome Contract: Initial 6 months (potential for extension) Hours: Full-time (37 hours per week) with flexible hybrid working Rate: TBC About the Role: Are you a newly qualified Environmental Health Officer looking to kickstart your career in Private Sector Housing? A Local Authority in the Midlands is seeking enthusiastic EHOs to join their dedicated Housing Team. This is a great opportunity to gain valuable experience in a supportive environment while working on a range of housing enforcement and licensing duties. What You’ll Be Doing: You’ll play a key role in improving housing conditions by: * Conducting HMO licensing inspections and ensuring compliance. * Supporting enforcement action, including issuing notices and preparing cases. * Investigating housing disrepair complaints and working with landlords to resolve issues. * Gaining hands-on experience in legal proceedings, including tribunal representation. * Learning from experienced officers while developing your own caseload. What We’re Looking For: * A degree in Environmental Health (or equivalent). * HHSRS (Housing Health & Safety Rating System) certification. * A proactive and eager-to-learn approach, with an interest in housing enforcement. * Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
