Locum Housing Litigation Lawyer/Solicitor - Hybrid Opportunity

I'm currently working with a Local Authority in the Glastonbury area seeking an experienced Locum Housing Litigation Lawyer/Solicitor to support their Housing Legal Team.

Initial 3-Month Contract (strong likelihood of extension)

£55-£65 per hour

Hybrid Working (2 days per week attendance required)

This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy local authority legal team, managing a varied housing litigation caseload while undertaking regular advocacy and court attendance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing a full housing litigation caseload from start to finish with minimal supervision
  • Attending court and undertaking advocacy approximately once per week
  • Handling housing possession and repossession proceedings
  • Managing rent arrears cases
  • Advising on homelessness matters
  • Dealing with housing disrepair claims
  • Managing antisocial behaviour (ASB) cases and injunction applications
  • Handling gas injunction matters

Essential Requirements:

  • Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or CILEX Lawyer
  • Previous local authority housing litigation experience
  • Experience managing housing possession and repossession proceedings
  • Strong advocacy experience and confidence attending court
  • Knowledge of homelessness, housing disrepair, and ASB matters
  • Ability to manage a caseload independently with minimal supervision
