The Club:
The Oxford and Cambridge Club is an exclusive private members Club with a Grade II*-listed Clubhouse in central London. The Club has 46 bedrooms, a fine dining restaurant, 3 banqueting suites, 2 bars, 2 squash courts, a billiard room and extensive libraries. The Club has nearly 5000 members.
The Role:
We are recruiting for a Banqueting Manager to join the Banqueting team. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role. We are looking for someone who is highly personable, passionate about delivering five-star service in a busy working environment. The role is a full-time position, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
The Person:
- Able to work shifts including weekdays, weekends, mornings and evenings.
- Previous experience in conference and banqueting is a must with experience in a similar role.
- Be punctual, polite, courteous and helpful to members and colleagues at all times.
- Reliable, professional and a good team player.
- Able to work unsupervised.
- Good communication skills with good spoken and written English.
Main Duties:
- Proactive in dealing with members' requests.
- Take bookings and manage the Club Diary.
- Co-ordinate events from concept to delivery.
- Running large and small banqueting functions and liaising closely on the day with the members.
- Managing staff and booking of operational assets.
- Delivering exceptional standards of delivery and seamless service.
- Checking that all equipment is in full working order before the members' arrival.
- Ensure exceptional service standards are being adhered to at all times.
- Undertake Club and legal standards for cleanliness and maintain within the department.
- Be aware of responsibility for the security of the members and Club property.
- Be part of the Duty Management team.
Eligibility:
Only applicants eligible to work in the UK or have a valid UK work permit or visa should apply. Preferable degree level education or similarly qualified or experienced.
