Your Role:
You’ll lead day-to-day PR and Communications for The Overlap, keeping our brand, talent and shows front of mind across sport and media, and turning profile into commercial impact. You’ll shape the stories we tell around flagship launches and build the repeatable rhythm that keeps us in the conversation all year round.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with our agency and Global to set strategy and execute: Working with our appointed agency and Global on our PR & Comms strategy to then lead on the execution of this across the year and feeding back changes and improvements throughout.
- Launch & campaign PR: Lead PR strategy and execution for major launches and tentpole moments across The Overlap network – from announcement planning and embargoes to talent interviews, second-wave stories and post-launch momentum.
- Always-on press office: Run our weekly PR rhythm – drafting press releases, pitching stories, newsjacking big football and media moments, and amplifying show clips into coverage across sports, entertainment and trade titles.
- Reputation & stakeholder management: Manage sensitive narratives), coordinate approvals with talent representatives and partners, and ensure alignment with The Overlap and regulatory standards.
- Industry positioning & communications: Own our awards and events strategy, speaking opportunities and trade presence.
What You’ll Need
- PR & media experience: Significant experience in PR (typically 6+ years), ideally in sport, entertainment, media or talent-led brands.
- Industry connections: A strong understanding of the UK media landscape, with existing relationships or clear credibility with sports, entertainment and/or trade press.
- Storytelling & pitching skills: Proven ability to shape sharp narratives, write clean copy (press releases, briefings, Q&As) and sell stories in.
- Campaign leadership: Experience planning and delivering launch campaigns and ongoing press office activity, including working with or within agencies.
- Stakeholder management: Confidence working with senior stakeholders and high‑profile talent, balancing commercial, editorial and reputational needs.
- Judgement & resilience: Comfort operating in fast‑moving, sometimes sensitive environments, with the ability to spot issues early and respond calmly and constructively.
