We are currently recruiting a Factory Quality Manager for a leading European food group, based at their 24/7 facility in North Wales near Chester. Reporting to the Site Head of Technical, the Quality Manager will oversee the factory quality team, driving a culture of operational excellence and food safety. As the site's Quality Manager, your mission is to ensure products meet the highest standards of safety and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Mentoring and developing the Quality team while embedding a culture of continuous improvement.
- Compliance & Audits: Maintaining quality policies in line with HACCP and ensuring the site remains "audit-ready" for 3rd party and customer inspections.
- Customer Relations: Acting as the primary technical point of contact for major retailers, attending meetings, and responding to technical queries.
- Data-Driven Quality: Analyzing product performance data to provide actionable insights and managing CAPA plans for non-conformances.
- Innovation Support: Collaborating with cross-functional teams on NPD and process validation to ensure quality is built into every new launch.
Who We Are Looking For / Qualifications
- Proven Experience: You have a track record in quality or Food Safety management within a food production or FMCG environment.
- Chilled or Frozen Expertise: Previous experience within chilled or frozen complex categories is highly desirable but not essential.
- Retailer Knowledge: Familiarity with major retailer standards (e.g. Tesco, Aldi, Iceland, Morrisons).
- Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of HACCP, allergen management, and environmental monitoring.
- Influence: A proven ability to lead teams and drive positive change within a manufacturing setting.
