We are currently recruiting for a Retail Account Manager to take ownership of a key grocery retail account; Iceland Foods. This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially driven individual to manage and grow a high-value retail partnership within a fast-paced food environment. The role reports directly into the Head of Retail and offers significant autonomy and responsibility.
The Role
As Retail Account Manager, you will take full commercial responsibility for the Iceland account, currently worth circa £20 million, managing a portfolio of approximately 10–20 SKUs. You will lead on sales performance, relationship management, and growth strategy, working cross-functionally with internal teams including NPD, Technical, and Commercial.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary point of contact for all commercial queries from the Iceland account
- Hold full P&L responsibility, ensuring profitability and sustainable growth
- Identify and deliver new business opportunities and account expansion
- Lead category management and range development initiatives
- Take a data-led approach, using insights to influence decisions and strategy
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships, providing support and advice
- Attend and contribute to NPD sessions, staying aligned with product pipelines
- Develop and manage critical paths for new product launches and projects
- Collaborate with NPD to support customer presentations, including pricing and market data
- Provide accurate briefs (volumes, timelines) to ensure effective pricing strategies
- Monitor and manage stock levels where applicable
- Analyse sales performance, forecasts, and promotional activity
- Work with Technical teams to resolve complaints and improve processes
- Conduct quarterly business reviews covering performance, innovation, and future plans
- Lead range reviews to maintain an accurate and competitive product portfolio
- Proactively seek opportunities across retail and foodservice channels
About You
- Proven experience in a Retail Account Manager / National Account Executive role
- Experience working with major UK retailers (ideally including Iceland Foods, Tesco, Asda, or Morrisons)
- Strong commercial acumen with experience managing P&L responsibility
- Confident working cross-functionally with NPD, Technical, and Supply Chain teams
- Analytical mindset with the ability to turn data into actionable insights
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Highly organised with strong project management capability
