We are seeking a Planning Manager to join a leading food manufacturing business at their factory in the East Glasgow area. The successful Planning Manager will be responsible for taking the lead on production planning, materials management and master data functions, transitioning the planning function into a best-in-class operation. With 2 direct reports, the Planning Manager will be responsible for ensuring the factory operation is optimised to meet customer service KPIs while maintaining lean inventory levels.

Key Responsibilities of the Planning Manager Include:

  • Production Scheduling: Creating and communicating daily production schedules and raising production orders.
  • Master Data Ownership: Taking full responsibility for the accurate transition of NPD recipes into operational Bills of Materials (BOM) and Routings within the ERP system.
  • Inventory Control: Managing material stock levels, placing purchase orders, and minimising the risk of redundant stock write-offs.
  • Strategic Planning: Managing key seasonal campaigns and promotional activities to ensure seamless execution.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Attending daily production meetings and managing stock-out communications between Customer Care and Sales.

The successful Planning Manager will be an analytical thinker who can perform "what-if" analyses and has the gravitas to influence stakeholders at all levels.

Requirements:

  • Industry Experience: At least 2–3 years of experience operating at a Management level within an FMCG environment (Food manufacturing experience is highly advantageous).
  • Systems Expertise: Proficient in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or Navision is preferred.
  • Leadership: Proven experience in building and developing teams and succession planning.
  • Resilience: The ability to stay calm under pressure and prioritise workloads to meet strict deadlines.
  • Technical Literacy: High numerical reasoning and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
