We are seeking an NPD Process Technologist for a leading blue-chip manufacturer of chilled products for the retail market.
The NPD Process Technologist is the vital link between the development teams and the manufacturing process, ensuring the scale up of products in line with food safety, technical, company and customer standards.
NPD Process Technologist duties include:
- Deliver trials on time and in line with business-critical paths, using problem-solving to capture and resolve issues across functions.
- Prepare and complete transit tests, review microbiological and nutritional results, and ensure compliance with customer codes and project objectives.
- Facilitate post-trial evaluation, coordinating samples, reviewing organoleptic assessments, and generating QAS reports with clear action plans.
- Conduct food safety validations in line with site CCPs and HACCP principles, ensuring compliance with retailer procedures.
- Manage raw materials and packaging, maintaining approval status, controlling costs, and proactively resolving issues to protect the critical path.
- Monitor factory processes, collect relevant data for business systems, identify issues in standard production, and implement cost reduction opportunities.
- Complete controlled trial, pre-production, and launch documentation, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and cross-functional alignment.
The successful NPD Process Technologist will ideally have:
- Proven hands-on experience in a food manufacturing environment – NPD / Process / quality / technical.
- Qualifications: Food Science or a food-related degree (or equivalent), with current Food Safety Level 2 and HACCP Level 2 certification.
- Skilled in project coordination, understanding critical paths, and delivering outcomes efficiently while managing multiple priorities.
