The Outlook Foundation is a charity offering safe, supportive homes, specialising in training and empowering adults with learning disabilities and autism, to be as independent as possible and live their best life. We support individuals to work, develop their education, life skills, health awareness, decision making and social skills. We are currently looking to recruit two full time Support Workers at our Brighton based (Withdean) residential setting.
As a forward-thinking charity, we need dynamic, committed and flexible Support Workers to teach life skills in a fun and engaging manner. The role is 40 hours a week with a mix of shifts, including every other weekend, flexibility is also considered. Each day is different. If you have a caring, compassionate nature and a passion for educating and empowering others, then this role is right for you. We aim to support individuals with mild to moderate learning disabilities to develop their independence skills and move on into the community (if that is their desire), several of the tenants now have their own flats and continue to be supported by the team.
The right candidate will be able to:
- Offer our residents/tenants person-centred support in doing the things they enjoy and in making choices and decisions.
- Devise and support residents to develop their support plans, to learn life skills and in having their voices heard.
- Encourage and inspire them to try new things, to grow and develop to their full potential.
- Demonstrate a commitment to Equality and Diversity.
