Learning Support Care Assistant

As an LSCA, you will play a vital role in supporting learners throughout their educational, social and residential experiences. Working alongside tutors, therapists and support professionals, you will help learners achieve greater independence while promoting choice, dignity and inclusion.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting learners in educational, social and independent living activities.
• Providing personal care and supporting intimate care needs with dignity and respect.
• Encouraging the development of communication, employability and life skills.
• Supporting learners with daily living tasks such as meal preparation, shopping, budgeting and attending appointments.
• Assisting with off-site activities, work placements and community visits.
• Acting as a positive role model and keyworker.
• Maintaining accurate learner records and contributing to individual support plans.
• Supporting learners with manual handling requirements where necessary.

Applicants must already have the legal right to live and work in the UK for the duration of their employment . At least two years' experience supporting young people or adults with learning difficulties, disabilities or additional support needs.

Qualifications & requirements

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• A commitment to promoting independence, dignity and person-centred support.
• Good literacy, numeracy and IT skills.
• A Level 2 or 3 qualification in Learning Support or Health and Social Care is desirable but not essential.
• Challenging attitudes towards disability

• Ensuring that disabled people have the opportunities to fulfil their potential and realise their aspiration

Working Pattern

This is a term-time only position working 44 weeks per year, including:

• 38 term-time weeks
• 6 weeks allocated to training, rehearsals, administration and organisational requirements

The role operates on a two-week rota, including a mixture of:

• Early shifts: 7:00am to 3:00pm
• Day shifts: 9:00am to 5:00pm
• Late shifts: 1:30pm to 9:30pm

You will be required to work every other weekend.
