Pay rate: £16.90ph Mon-Fri, £17.30ph weekends

About the role

Do you have experience of delivering care in a residential or family setting? Do you prefer to work nights? Our care teams make a real difference every day and your professionalism, teamed with kindness and compassion, will be at the core of everything you do. Leading a team of carers, you’ll be responsible for keeping wakeful watch on the security and safety of our residents and the home in general. Whether it’s helping residents with their night-time routines or personal care, providing companionship, supporting with light household duties or administering medication, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring they are leading happy and fulfilled lives.

In joining us, you’ll also become part of our extended family. You’ll work alongside other team members who are passionate about providing care, warmth and kindness to all those who live and work in our schemes. Located in the historic Old Sarum, just north of Salisbury, Avon Court and Bourne House make up Avonbourne Care Centre. Each offers an elegant environment with compassionate, individualised care in welcoming, relaxing, and homely households. The Avonbourne team provides tailored support for residents dependent on their own requirements, from a little extra help with some day to day tasks on our residential households, through to more specialist support with nursing and dementia needs.

About you

You’ll have strong experience as a carer in a care setting with the ability to relate to our residents in a caring and sensitive manner. You might have previous supervisory experience, like delegating tasks, supporting inductions for new starters and 1 to 1s but this is not essential. What is important is you are a positive role model, with excellent communication skills and a natural ability to get along with others. A supportive individual, able to motivate others to deliver the best possible care to our residents at all times. Alongside being confident taking charge and being able to use your own initiative to resolve problems and deal with queries.
