Activities Co‑ordinator

Location: Wing View Care Centre, Wing, Leighton Buzzard. Pay: £13.25 per hour (Monday – Sunday). Contracted Hours: 20 per week. Shift Pattern: 4 days per week, Monday – Sunday, 5 hours per day (flexible over a 7‑day period, typically 10:30 – 15:30).

About the Role

Our homes are vibrant, joyful communities where a wide range of stimulating activities and entertainment enhance the quality of life for our residents. As an Activities Coordinator you’ll create and deliver an ongoing programme of activities and events that engage residents, promote their independence, and are tailored to their individual needs, including those living with age‑related conditions.

You’ll learn what residents love to do (past or present), and find ways of creating new memories with them. You’ll work alongside a passionate team that provides care, warmth and kindness. The Wing View Care Centre is in a peaceful setting with modern, comfortable surroundings designed for today’s residents, with easy access to the village centre.

Responsibilities

Design, organise, and run activities and events that meet residents’ interests and needs.

Engage with residents both as a group and one‑to‑one, assessing preferences and abilities.

Collaborate with the local community, inviting visitors and participants to enrich the programme.

Encourage staff, relatives, and friends to join activities and events.

Qualifications

Experience creating, organising, and delivering events and activities, or experience working with elderly people in a residential setting.

Confidence and skill in engaging residents, understanding their preferences, and fostering an inclusive environment.
