THE ORCHID PRACTICE LTD is a paediatric speech and language therapy practice based in Takeley, Essex. We cover East Herts and West Essex providing on-site speech and language therapy to individual clients and school commissions. We are passionate about providing high quality speech and language therapy services to children and young people in our local community. We are proud to work face to face and continue to provide high quality in-person therapy as well as online options where clinically appropriate.
Role Description
This is a full-time role term time only, (not pro rata) for a dynamic, committed and flexible therapist who wants to work closely with schools and families and do lots of therapy. The ideal therapist will have excellent people skills, lots of passion and creativity, enthusiasm and a proactive mindset for providing holistic services for children and families. The role includes assessing and treating speech, language and communication needs for preschool, primary and secondary age children. The therapist will also provide training and tailored advice for family and education staff.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, or higher in speech and language therapy.
- Current registration with the HCPC and RCSLT.
- Candidate must be a car driver as the role requires home and school visits in our catchment areas.
- UK-based therapists, we are unable to support work visas at this time.
Experience
- We welcome applicants with 1-2 years of experience.
- We will consider newly qualified therapists; experience working with SEN children is desirable.
- 1-2 years’ experience working with children with speech, language and communication needs either as a therapist or other professional.
- NQPs are encouraged to apply.
- We have a supportive programme of development in place.
- Training and experience in evaluating and treating children with a variety of SLCN including speech disorders, DLD and autism.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with families, caregivers, and other professionals.
- Ability to be self-directed and demonstrate initiative with effective problem solving skills.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and a passion for working with people.
Job Role: permanent, full-time, term-time only, not pro rata.
Salary: £30,000 (minimum depended on experience)
Holiday: 10 weeks of paid holiday coinciding with school holidays and bank holidays paid.
