Your role will be to ensure a professional and efficient service is provided to patients and visitors both face to face and over the telephone., * To provide reception and administrative support to a team of doctors and the practice nurses

Take incoming telephone calls from patients and based on the information they tell you, navigate them to the most appropriate clinician (by appointment) or solution

Book patient appointments for doctors, nurses, physios and Pharmacists using a computerised appointment system

Manage and monitor the flow of patients into consulting and treatment rooms

Ensure that patients who need an ‘urgent consultation’ are seen according to agreed protocols

Explain practice arrangements and requirements to new patients, and ensure the registration process is completed

Advise patients of relevant charges for private services, accept payment and issue a receipt

Ensure that incoming tasks are allocated
-
Ensure reception and waiting areas are kept neat and tidy
-
Ensure that patient contact via the practice website is managed appropriately

Assist with the training of new Health Navigators

To take a lead role on various tasks delegated to you, examples being deductions, dashboard, heath promotion, registration processes; this is not an exhaustive list
Candidates will need to be able to work a range of shifts to cover the practice opening hours, from 8am – 6.30pm. including the occasional Saturday Morning. Flexibility is essential with this role.
Previous medical receptionist/administrative experience is desirable, but not essential as we can provide training for the right candidate.
The role is more challenging and highly skilled than what it seems at face value, however is highly rewarding. Salary: £11.53 per hour increasing after successfully passing of probation.
