Overview
Providing the highest possible levels of care in supporting and assisting residents in all aspects of daily living.
The role focuses on promoting independence with a emphasis on choice, dignity and respect, while supporting physical and emotional wellbeing and providing input during shift handovers.
Responsibilities
- Lead your shift to maintain high standards and ensure team members feel supported.
- Complete daily medication rounds and document consistently; ensure daily charts are completed to a high standard by all shifts and that medication audits do not raise issues.
- Promote good practice in all aspects of care and challenge poor practice from other team members.
- Ensure one-to-ones for all care and support team members are conducted every two months and investigate complaints and concerns as directed by the Home Manager.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Relevant professional qualification (e. g., Registered Nurse or NVQ/Diploma minimum level 3 in Health and Social Care).
- Minimum of two years' experience as a Care Assistant in a residential or nursing home setting.
- Awareness of person-centred care planning principles.
- Understanding of the prevention of abuse of vulnerable adults, recognition of signs of abuse, and procedures to follow in the event of an allegation of abuse.
- Ability to reside within 30 minutes of the Home.
- Ability to work under pressure; strong leadership and people skills; a caring and nurturing attitude; positive and enthusiastic outlook; good time management; strong written and oral communication skills.
