The Orchard Day Nursery Wimbledon is seeking a Deputy Nursery Manager for a permanent, year-round role. The position is partially room-based and offers a salary of up to £38,000 DOE. The nursery operates from 7am to 7pm, Monday to Friday, and is located in Wimbledon (SW19).
About the Role
As Deputy Nursery Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the nursery, supporting the Nursery Manager while remaining actively involved in practice on the floor. The position offers a varied balance of administrative duties, team leadership, and direct work with children.
Key Responsibilities
- Support smooth daily running of the nursery and room.
- Lead, motivate and develop the room team.
- Manage admin, record-keeping, compliance and IT systems.
- Ensure high-quality EYFS practice, safeguarding and strong parent partnerships.
What You Need
- Level 3+ Early Years qualification (DfE-approved)
- Strong organisational, administrative, and IT skills
- Extensive experience in a leadership role (such as Room Leader or Third in Charge)
- A caring, positive approach
