We are looking for experienced hospitality professionals to take on the operational running of a small high-end restaurant with rooms. This role would be ideal for a couple where one has front of house/housekeeping experience and the other is a chef with considerable experience in a fine dining environment, though there is flexibility to consider other ranges of skills and experience. The exact nature of the roles will depend on the experience and skills of the successful applicants. This is a rare opportunity for the right people to gain experience of running a business without the risks of capital outlay. About Us: We are an award-winning 5-star rated restaurant with rooms located in a beautiful residential part of Stirling. There are 10 individually styled rooms and a 30 cover restaurant. The focus of the restaurant is on quality using local produce. It is currently open Tuesday to Saturday offering homemade afternoon teas, lunch and dinner. The business is consistently top-rated in the local area for both accommodation and as a restaurant.
About You: The main thing we are looking for is people who can maintain existing standards, but also have the drive and creativity to continue the development of the business. As a team, you will have the following essential attributes, skills and experience:
- A strong sense of responsibility and ownership
- Good leadership skills with willingness to work as a team member with a flexible hands-on approach
- Strong customer service focus with a track record in front of house in either or both hotel and restaurant environments
- Strong team management skills with experience in human resource management
- Knowledge of hotel and restaurant administrative systems including good IT skills
- Experience of housekeeping in a high-quality establishment
Desirable Skills and attributes include:
- Experience as a chef to at least chef de partie level in a fine dining environment with a willingness and ability to work as a sous chef under an existing head chef
- Knowledge of hotel and restaurant marketing (including use of social media) with demonstrable experience in driving improvement in sales
- Bar skills including recognised qualifications in wines
- Gardening and house maintenance skills
Benefits: The salary package is negotiable, but it is envisaged that it will include a decent basic salary with company pension. In addition, there will be a share of tips/service charge with the potential for a profit-linked bonus equivalent to 50% of basic salary. The role also comes with excellent subsidised ensuite accommodation with access to an open plan kitchen/living room.
