The Orange Trust is a London-based non-profit NGO (est. 2018) that builds sustainable, long-term projects in healthcare, education, and community development across Africa and beyond. Our mission is to empower underserved communities by providing access to healthcare, education, and innovative development. We’ve successfully led projects in Tanzania, Zanzibar, Algeria’s Sahara Desert, Senegal, and the UK, transforming lives through strategic partnerships and field impact.

At our core, we believe that real change begins with sustainable action — uniting compassion, innovation, and purpose to create a better future for all.

The Nexus Team is the official ambassador and outreach division of The Orange Trust, acting as the face and voice of the organisation. “Nexus” means connection — and this team represents exactly that: the bridge between The Orange Trust’s leadership, global communities, and supporters worldwide.

Nexus Ambassadors lead awareness campaigns, represent the charity at conferences, and work with our international teams to connect people, purpose, and progress.

What You Will Do

  • Represent The Orange Trust in your university, community, or region, serving as the first point of contact for local outreach.
  • Deliver engaging presentations, talks, and events to raise awareness about our global projects.
  • Coordinate with our Partnerships, Media, and SDIU teams to promote ongoing campaigns and highlight field impact stories.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local NGOs, universities, and community groups.
  • Participate in international field trips, conferences, and workshops representing The Orange Trust.
  • Lead creative engagement projects such as charity fundraisers, digital campaigns, or student collaborations.
  • Take part in our Leadership & Communication Training Programme to enhance your public speaking, strategic thinking, and global collaboration skills.
  • Create reports and feedback briefs from your outreach activities for strategic development and monitoring.

Who We’re Looking For

  • University students or recent graduates seeking hands-on experience in NGO or international development.
  • Passionate about public speaking, humanitarian work, sustainability, and global impact.
  • Excellent communicators with confidence in presenting, networking, and leadership.
  • Proactive, organised, and able to work independently as part of a global network.
  • Socially aware, empathetic, and culturally sensitive when engaging with diverse communities.
  • Experienced (or willing to learn) in digital communication, event coordination, or advocacy.

What You’ll Gain

  • Fully funded opportunities for international travel (flights and accommodation covered) to attend official programmes and outreach trips in Africa, the UK, or abroad.
  • Professional NGO experience in international development, media, and outreach.
  • Certification and reference letter from The Orange Trust upon successful completion.
  • Leadership and communication training from The Orange Trust’s SDIU mentors.
  • Global networking opportunities with volunteers, medical and education teams, and partner institutions.
  • Priority consideration for future paid positions or leadership roles within the charity.
  • A chance to make a real humanitarian impact while developing your personal and professional portfolio.
