Purpose of the Role: We have an exciting opportunity to lead the team as Team Leader in Bottega Veneta Selfridges W1. The ideal candidate will be a results-driven, service-orientated strategic thinker who has substantial experience in, and is passionate about, leading, managing and coaching their retail team to achieve sales targets whilst delivering the highest standards of luxury customer service. The role requires numerate and commercial expertise to plan and deliver key business objectives in this key retail account.

Line of Reporting: Reporting directly to the Retail Business Manager, who will lead the Team Leader, Luxury Brand Ambassadors, and Stock Controller to ensure a seamless and exceptional customer experience.

Day to Day Key Responsibilities: Your duties will include but not be limited to the following:

  • Creating a Luxurious Customer Experience aligned to our renowned reputation: Elevate customer experiences beyond customary standards, ensuring a consistent delivery of exceptional service.
  • Leadership and Team Inspiration: Lead, coach, and inspire the team, fostering dedication, commitment, and passion in alignment with global guidelines. Provide regular team updates to ensure all are aligned, engaged and have the opportunity to share ideas.
  • Sales and KPI Achievement: Exceed sales and KPI targets through motivational and achievable strategies, cultivating a clear brand experience.
  • Operational Excellence: Maintain operational excellence, driving sales and profitability, and collaboratively managing staffing budgets with the Retail Business Manager. Ensuring the Account is well managed, aligned to our Visual Merchandising Guidelines and in good condition.
  • Clienteling Skills: Demonstrate strong clienteling skills, building a loyal customer network by driving CCT (Creed Clienteling Technology) and orchestrating client networking events.
  • Sales Planning and Review: Develop and implement a robust sales plan, setting financial targets and KPIs for the team. Review performance data to monitor departmental productivity, goal achievement, and overall effectiveness. Propose initiatives to enhance business to the Retail Business Manager.
  • Stock Management: Manage and review stock levels with the Stock Controller and proactively ensure accuracy aligned to potential business requirements. Stay informed about retail industry trends and competitor activities.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure timely processing of health, safety, legal, and security issues.
  • Talent Acquisition and Team Development: Identify and interview candidates for vacancies, own the onboarding process to ensure new starters are set up for success. Conduct probationary reviews, employee personal development plans, and performance feedback sessions. Provide on the spot feedback to the team, providing guidance on their individual performance to support development and ensure coaching on specific requirements. Manage daily people matters, rotas/staffing levels and ensure education on on-counter technology.

Skills/Experience Required: We are seeking candidates with the following qualifications:

  • Substantial retail sales management experience, preferably in a luxury environment.
  • Experience in managing a retail location with a minimum £1 million annual turnover.
  • The ability to demonstrate an excellent track record in exceeding targets through high level of product knowledge and service skills.
  • Proven success in leading, managing and developing a large team.
  • Key stakeholder management including the ability to establish and maintain excellent business relationships and communication with the relevant Selfridges management.
  • High attention to detail and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Influencing and motivational communication expertise.
  • Extensive experience in client/customer interactions.
  • Proficiency in MS Office programmes.
