About the Opportunity
If you’re an experienced Plant Mechanic or Heavy Diesel Technician looking for hands‑on workshop work, predictable hours, and long‑term career security — this role delivers. We’re seeking a skilled Workshop Plant Mechanic to join our Tamworth team, maintaining and rebuilding a broad range of Caterpillar machinery in a modern, well‑equipped workshop environment. This is a permanent, Monday to Friday day‑shift role — ideal if you want to stay local, sleep in your own bed, and still work with industry‑leading equipment.
What you’ll do
- Diagnose, service, repair and rebuild CAT® earthmoving and construction equipment
- Perform preventative maintenance and major overhauls in a workshop setting
- Use OEM diagnostic tools and systems to identify faults efficiently
- Maintain high safety, quality and housekeeping standards
- Work alongside a supportive, highly experienced workshop team
What you’ll bring
- Trade qualified Plant Mechanic / Heavy Diesel Mechanic (Cert III or equivalent)
- Experience working on mobile plant or heavy equipment; CAT® or other OEM experience highly regarded
- Strong fault‑finding and diagnostic skills
- Australian recognised trade certificate & transcripts
- Current Australian driver’s licence
- Team‑focused attitude with pride in quality workmanship
