We have a great opportunity to join Openfield in a brand-new Trader role within an established and commercial trading team based in Colsterworth, starting immediately. The ideal candidate will demonstrate an intuitive approach towards sales and trading, with an interest in global grain markets, food supply chains and food production such as bread, beer, cereals, biscuits and animal feed.
Who We’re Looking For
- An individual with prior experience of the agricultural industry and/or supply chain who is looking for either the next step in their career or to move into a trading role from elsewhere in the industry.
- Previous trading and/or sales experience is desirable.
- Someone who can demonstrate adaptability and a positive attitude.
- You must be hungry to succeed, highly self-motivated and excel working in a team environment.
- A creative thinker with research and analytical skills.
- Ability to focus in a fast-paced and dynamic environment and also to self-regulate and navigate the peaks and troughs of trading.
- You will be able to quickly form and develop strong commercial relationships internally and externally to create opportunities that best meet the business's commercial challenges.
- More importantly, we want people who will fit and contribute to Openfield's values and behaviours.
Required Skills And Experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- IT literacy including MS Outlook, PowerPoint, Office, Teams and Excel.
- Self-managing and resilient with a strong work ethic.
- Able to demonstrate a good level of commercial understanding.
- Ability to integrate into the wider team and work with others.
- Demonstrate a good level of confidence and self-assurance.
- Demonstrate ability to make and build relationships.
- A quick learner with excellent problem-solving skills.
- A flexible approach.
- Educated at least to A level standard.
- Someone comfortable working Monday to Friday on 37.5 hours per week.
