I am delighted to be partnering exclusively with a niche organisation based in Cambridge to recruit a Qualified Accountant to join their growing business on a temporary-to-permanent basis. This is a newly created role offering the opportunity to become an integral part of the Finance & Operations team, taking ownership of day-to-day financial operations and contributing to the continued growth of the organisation. This position offers fully remote working; however, candidates must be able to commit to attending the Cambridge office for company-wide meetings 1-2 days per month.
Duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Monitoring incoming payments and accurately allocating them to the appropriate accounts
- Take ownership of the bank accounts and ensure accurate reconciliations on a daily basis
- Preparing VAT returns
- Calculating, preparing, and posting journal entries
- Performing balance sheet reconciliations
- Managing direct debit collections
- Producing financial reports and analysis for internal and external stakeholders
- Supporting audit preparation, including compiling and providing data for auditors
- Work closely with the sales, operational and credit teams
Person specification:
- Fully qualified Accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA)
- Excellent attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise workload effectively
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships across departments
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of key finance processes
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies efficiently
