A leading RF business in Cambridge is looking to hire X4 Senior Test Engineers!
About the Role
In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with Development, Quality, and Business Support teams to enhance product quality and testing efficiency across a diverse portfolio.
No two days are the same - you’ll be involved in everything from hands‑on functional testing to the evolution of automated frameworks and mentoring junior colleagues.
Your day-to-day will include
- Designing, writing, and executing functional, regression, system, and performance tests.
- Verifying software and hardware solutions to ensure they meet customer and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify, reproduce, and resolve issues.
- Maintaining test environments, tools, and documentation for quality tracking.
- Developing and improving automation frameworks and scripts to enhance test coverage.
- Participating in design and requirements reviews to provide testability insights.
- Supporting continuous improvement within the testing function.
This role involves occasional international travel - a valid passport and full UK driving licence are required. Travel expenses are covered.
Please note: this position may require Security Clearance in the future.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Telecommunications, or a related field.
- Demonstrable experience in both manual and automated testing of complex or embedded systems.
- Solid understanding of test planning, defect management, and quality documentation.
- Experience using automation tools and test management systems.
- Strong communication and problem‑solving skills with a critical eye for detail.
- Eligibility for UK security clearance (minimum 3 years UK residency).
Nice to have
- ISTQB certification.
- Experience in telecommunications, embedded systems, or mission‑critical applications.
- Knowledge of network or communication protocols.
- Familiarity with scripting or automation frameworks.
