Senior Commercial Finance Business Partner
Location: Peterborough - hybrid working (two days in the office and three days from home)
Salary: Circa £90,000
We are partnering with a large and evolving UK group looking to appoint an experienced Senior Commercial Finance Business Partner to join its commercial finance function.
This is a highly visible role combining strategic internal business partnering with direct support for important external commercial relationships.
Working closely with the Commercial Finance Director and senior leadership team, you will provide commercial insight, constructive challenge and decision support across trading performance, new business opportunities, pricing and strategic initiatives.
The role requires someone who can move confidently between detailed analysis and senior-level conversations, translating complex financial information into clear commercial recommendations.
This opportunity would particularly suit an accomplished Senior Finance Business Partner who is approaching Head of Commercial Finance level and looking for greater exposure, influence and future progression.
Key responsibilities
- Partner with senior leaders and external commercial stakeholders, building trusted relationships and providing constructive financial challenge.
- Lead commercial planning, budgeting and forecasting across key areas of business performance.
- Develop robust financial models and scenario analysis to support pricing, investment and strategic decision-making.
- Analyse complex data to identify trends, risks, opportunities and the underlying drivers of performance.
- Provide clear commercial insight across volumes, profitability, costs and wider trading performance.
- Support commercial negotiations, new business opportunities and the evaluation of customer and partner propositions.
- Drive improvements across pricing, value creation, reporting, forecasting and financial planning processes.
- Support strategic projects, due diligence and ad hoc commercial analysis when required.
What we are looking for
- A fully qualified accountant- ACA, ACCA or CIMA.
- Significant experience within commercial finance, FP&A or senior finance business partnering.
- Previous experience working within a large and complex organisation.
- A genuinely strategic and commercial mindset, with the confidence to influence senior leaders and challenge constructively.
- Strong budgeting, forecasting, pricing and financial modelling capability.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with credibility at executive and C-suite level.
