The One Group are hiring for an Accounts Assistant Manager to join an established, hugely successful accountancy practice in Peterborough on a full‑time, permanent basis.
The accounts department has experienced high growth in recent years and offers an exciting variety of work with great development opportunities. The team currently consists of 14 members of staff of varying levels of experience and responsibility.
You will have the opportunity to work closely with clients, working as part of the team alongside the partners, to deliver a high‑quality service.
Schedule
Monday - Friday 35 hours per week
Responsibilities
- Supervising the preparation of year‑end financial statements
- Performing high level reviews of management accounts and VAT returns
- Planning workflows and managing annual timetables to ensure internal deadlines are met
- Financial management including budgeting for work, quoting for fees and billing
- Taking ownership of ad‑hoc advisory projects
- Liaising effectively with other teams, including tax and audit teams, and specialists within the firm
- Supporting the development of qualified staff and trainees
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships
Requirements
- Preferably ACA/ACCA qualified and a number of years' experience of working in practice across the land and estates sector
- A good knowledge of Excel and Word is essential
- A good understanding of MTD bookkeeping software, such as Xero
