Milton Keynes

I’m looking for an experienced CNC Milling Setter/Operator to join a busy precision engineering environment on the late shift. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to take the next step in their career, with increased responsibility while still remaining hands-on. You’ll be the main point of contact for the CNC team on the late shift, working independently and using your experience to keep production running smoothly.

What I'm Looking For

  • Proven experience as a CNC Setter/Operator – essential.
  • Experience with 3 & 5-axis CNC machining centres.
  • Experience with Mazak/Mazatrol, Hurco or Heidenhain.
  • Ideally experienced on at least 2 of the 3 control systems.
  • Confident reading engineering drawings.
  • Experience machining a range of metals and plastics.
  • Strong understanding of tooling, offsets, feeds and speeds.
  • Able to carry out accurate in-process inspection.
  • Comfortable working independently and managing multiple machines.

Most Importantly...

I’m looking for someone who is a genuine problem solver. This isn’t a role for someone who simply wants to press buttons and wait for the next job. You’ll need to be able to troubleshoot issues, think on your feet and make decisions when things don’t go to plan.

Why This Role?

This would suit an experienced operator who is ready for more responsibility and career development. You don’t necessarily need previous management experience, but you should have the leadership qualities and confidence to support others while remaining hands-on. If you’re technically strong, proactive and want to take the next step in your CNC career, I’d be keen to speak with you.
